Not too long ago I was introduced to YogaGlo and I’ve become obsessed! YogaGlo is an online subscription platform that brings yoga straight into your living room. I’m not the “at home workout” type, but what I’ve come to appreciate about YogaGlo is that I don’t have to drive to my closest studio to get a really incredible class in.
To all my fitness girls out there. Have you ever gone shopping with the intention to buy “normal people” clothing and walked out with workout leggings and sneakers instead?
Hmmm...Never happens right?! JK It happens to me every single time and kicking myself in the butt for not picking up something to wear to a non fitness related function. The struggle is real.
I recently was introduced to Trunk Club and I wish I had found it sooner. Funny enough when I told my husband about it he was like, “Oh yeah I know about them…” I looked at him and was like “WTF...where have I been"? Now on to the review...
Do you remember a time when opinions of others didn’t matter? Hmmm...what was that answer?
The older I get the less time I seem to have, and when I do find the time I really feel the necessity to invest in taking care of myself by slowing down and hitting the pause button. It’s so easy to fall into the trap, get caught up with what other people are doing, and how they’re living their life. Sadly, what screws us up the most in our life is this picture in our head of how it’s supposed to be.
One day it just clicks… you realize what’s important and what isn’t. You learn to care less about what other people think of you and more about what you think of yourself. You realize how far you’ve come and you remember when you thought things were such a mess that you would never recover. And you SMILE. You smile because you are truly proud of yourself and the person you’ve fought to become.
Anxiety happens when we worry about the future, planning for it, and trying to predict it, as if figuring it out now will cushion the blow. The thing is the future is always changing and will always be a place of uncertainty and fear. But the future can also be the home of our wildest dreams and hopes. Don’t hold yourself back because of something you cannot control, instead adapt. The quicker you can learn to adapt and redirect time and energy the easier it become to get things things you value in life accomplished. Looking back at the past only causes us to ruminate over things we cannot change. Give yourself grace. Failures are an opportunity for us to reflect on what we did and how we failed, so we can change the mindset and path in the present moment.
A lot of my self reflection happens in those few moments I get to pause, while I’m home lounging around in comfy clothes like this new lounge wear from Third Love. It’s when I can strip off any of the fictitious labels that workout clothes puts on me as a fitness blogger or influencer and I can just think for myself. It’s funny how clothing can do that to a person, but it does. We often say “here are my regular people clothes” when referring to items that are not exercise gear so I guess I’ll label my lounge wear as “my pausing from life” clothes.
Third Love recently launched loungewear which is awesome because there are days where I just don’t want to be in workout clothing and silky PJs is just a little extra. It’s made with seamless bamboo, which means no itchy seams and naturally antimicrobial to keep you dry and cool.
ThirdLove is an internet based company who utilizes tech in order to help you find the perfect bra fit from the comfort of your own home. They even offer bras with half-sized cups which is incredible because I feel like I’m one of the 50% of women who fall between standard cup sizes. To start, you can take the Fit Finder Quiz.
ThirdLove let’s you Try Before You Buy (choosing from one of their best selling bras: 24/7 Classic T-Shirt bra, 24/7 Classic Full Coverage bra or 24/7 Push Up bra) or my personal favorite the Longline Lace Balconette Bra. You just pay for shipping and try it out (even wash it) for 30 days. If you like it, you keep it and if you don’t like it, you can return it and the bra is donated to both local San Francisco charities and women’s charities through their Bras for All program where they’ve given over $1 million worth of bras to women in need since 2013.
Thanks to ThirdLove, a brand I love and trust, for sponsoring this post. Partnerships like this make GOFITJO possible.

Subscription boxes...do we love them or do we hate them? They seem to be all the rage right now especially because we're all busy bad ass women trying hustling hard to keep up with life's crazy demands right now. I go back and forth with my mindset on the issue of "I've just gotten to an age in life where IDGAF" and I stick to what I know and what I've become comfortable with when it comes to fashion and beauty. On the flip side of that you never discover new products or styles you might think you'll like because your stuck in your box. This is one of the reasons why I'm a fan of subscription boxes because you get the chance to try things that you might not have been looking for when shopping on your own.
First up is the SweatStyle box. Since I'm a fitness enthusiast, this one was a no brainer. I enjoy getting new workout clothes and living in yoga pants as much as I possibly can. My Sweat Style box comes with two different outfits in each delivery. What's cool is you can set the delivery schedule as frequent or infrequent as you like: 1 month, every other, or 3 months. This is pretty sweet especially if you're like me and whenever you walk into the store you can't help but walk out with a new sports bra to add to your collection of 50 in your drawers.
My first box included the following:
- Terez Muscle Tank in Wine
- Terez Pants 3D NYC Tall Band Performance Leggings (currently on sale at Bloomingdales)
- Strut-This Monroe Pant in all Grey
- Strut-This Muscle Tank in Grey
- Strut-This Kinzie Bra in Black on sale at Revolve.
Final Verdict: Out of 5 stars, I'd rate this a 3.5. Its a nice to have, but not a must. I do really appreciate the fact that you can customize the frequency of delivery. The selections that were curated in the box was pretty spot on of things I would buy except the Terez Pants. I may never approach these pants in store, but I do love how the feel on and as a NY born girl, I love the map of NYC on them. I would suggest to give it a try, the nice thing is there's no commitment. Use GOFITJO20 to get 20% off your first box at www.mysweatstyle.com
Next is BeautyCon Box!! This is my second BeautyCon box that I got and there were definitely some items in here that are must haves and some items that I felt I could live without. A little background of BeauyCon box, each season is curated by a different talent. This particular fall box was curated by Angel and Shyla, two bad ass celebrity make up artists in the industry. Now if I could only contour like Angel, I'd be set for LIFE!
In the box came all of this:
- DUO - Lash Adhesive
- Flutter Lashes - iSlay Lashes
- Jouer - Essential Lip Enhancer
- Laser Kitten - Sweetheart Lipstick Pin
- Luxie Beauty - Luxie Large Angled 504 Brush
- Milani Cosmetics - Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow
- Mystic Tan - Mocha-Kyssed Bronzer Lotion
- OFRA Cosmetics - Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick
- Simple® - Cleansing Facial Wipes
- Sugarfina - Sugar Lips®
- Shayla & Angel portrait by @rongrong_devoe_illustration
Final Verdict: 4 stars out of 5. I'm a sucker for beauty products, it must be the old hairstylist in me. A few of the things in here I may not use on the daily such as the iSlay Lashes, Duo Lash Glue. But all the other things in here I've already thrown into my gym bag such as the Simple Cleansing Facial wipes, OFRA Cosmetics Lipstick, and the Lip Enhancer by Jouer.
Last but definitely not least, is the Box of Style by The Zoe Report. First off any other Rachel Zoe fans here? Because I DIE. When The Zoe Report reached out to me to see if I was interested in checking out their box I was head over heels excited. I just remember watching Rachel Zoe on Bravo when I was younger wanting everything she wore!
I didn't get a flat lay of everything included because I was just so terribly excited to wrap myself in the monochrome cape. But here's a link to a video of what came inside.
Aside from the Adidas Avenue A box, this probably happens to be my favorite. This box includes things that I rarely shop for because I'm stuck in my comfort zone of athleisure looks and has a taste of both beauty and fashion wrapped up in one. The value of the items in the box and the price of the subscription is unreal. You get almost $400 worth of items for just $100 and that's pretty good steal. The Box of Style is definitely a 4.5 out of 5 stars for me. You can use JOANNE10 to get 10% off your Box of Style. If anything the box makes for a really awesome Christmas Gift for a girlfriend, boss lady, or family member.
Now as far as what to do with all these things you get in subscription boxes you wont use? I like to throw them into a small gift or leave the box with the items I wont be using in the woman's locker room with a note for anyone else to take. There's no better feeling than paying it forward to someone who might be needing a lipstick or hair product that day. A small act of kindness might just help someone you didn't know needed the smile.
Thank you SweatStyle, BeautyCon, and The Zoe Report for providing me with these boxes to try. As usual your girl Jo keeps it 100, although these boxes were given to me, my thoughts on the boxes and service are completely my own.
I'm sure you followed along some of the Maui adventures on Instagram especially since I couldn't help but flood my feed of all the amazing experiences and moments we had as a family. This vacation was much needed for all of us especially since my husband and I have been non stop on the go all summer and for the past twelve weeks while Encarnacion Photography was knee deep in wedding season.
I can't wait to share all of my memories with you on the blog, but one in particular that I wanted to highlight was the farm tour of O'o Farm. The first time we heard about O'o Farm was when we shot a wedding at Pacific'o restaurant four years ago in Lahaina. Pacific'o is one of the few restaurants in Maui that incorporates an amazing farm to table seasonal menu which highlights some of the finest ingredients found on Maui and the freshest fish caught for the day. If you are planning a visit to Maui, Pacific'o is a must for your taste buds. During our dining experience they had mentioned that we should tour the farm, but since our dinner was on our last night in Maui it was too late for us to schedule something then. So this time on our trip to Maui, we made O'o our first major adventure and one I would do all over again.
O'o Farm is nestled in upcountry Maui tucked away from the heat of the beaches in its much cooler climate. Across their eight acres you will find beautiful stone fruit orchard with some exotic Hawaiian citrus, rows of lettuce, garden vegetables, and a handful of freshly planted coffee trees which are featured in the Aina Gourmet Market at the Honua Kai. This was a treat for us since we were also staying at the Honua Kai and have been known to be slight coffee snobs who enjoy a cup of Sightglass pour over and Stumptown cold brew coffee.
The tour began with a meet and greet with Ancil Clancy, the orchard manager on the farm. You can tell by the way Ancil talks about each crop or product that he has a vast amount of knowledge, dedication, and passion for his craft. Something that any foodie can appreciate when someone is describing the food and the time taken into the harvest and process of the ingredients you are about to indulge in. Ancil is also in charge of nurturing the coffee orchard which includes harvesting, processing, and roasting the coffee.
The tour starts with a brief walk through the orchards learning a big about coffee, the fruit, and the tasting the berries of the coffee. Then you meet Chef Daniel Eskelsen and he provides an extensive overview of the menu for the day and the ingredients that are featured in the menu. All the produce on the menu was picked that day as well as the fresh catch which happened to be Opah, a moonfish. The salad on the menu was hand picked by us straight from the garden which was such an incredible treat for the girls. Included in the tour was an overview of their coffee roasting process for Aina Coffee, a 100% Maui grown coffee which is a single origin that offers unique characteristics and a mild beautiful roast. A definite treat for any coffee lover.
We've always has a dee love and appreciation for food and those involved in creating the wonderful dishes we enjoy at many of our favorite restaurants, but this experience deepened it. You can tell how mix love and attention goes into creating an amazing product. The knowledge and care that goes into the process of growing and harvesting food was unbelievable.
Here are some photos from the day taken by both Jonathan and myself. We hope you enjoy. Aloha!
On the menu for our day was:
- Fresh Maui Pineapple
- Wood oven baked focaccia bread made with Maui onions
- Wood Fire Roasted Chicken featured with a puree of garden root vegetables made into a "gravy"
- O'o Farm Signature Tofu with oven roasted herbs and vegetables
- Kaffir Lime Opah
- Fresh hand picked O'o Farm greens with a citrus vinaigrette
- Espresso Chocolate truffles which featured coffee fruit fresh from the farm served with a cup of Aina Coffee
